Audience members who attended the first screening of "One Man, Two Guvnors" earlier this summer in East Central University's Estep Multimedia Center are clamoring for an encore of a comedy London's Daily Telegraph calls “the funniest show in town."

The East Central University Communications and Marketing Department recently captured six awards at the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) Annual Conference at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur.
ECU garnered two grand awards (first place), one excellence award (second place) and two achievement awards (third place) to go with one honorable mention award at the event.
The first-place awards were in the categories of radio and shoestring.

East Central University accepted a $297,437 incentive check from OG&E for its participation in the OG&E Schools and Government Efficiency (SAGE) Program.
The SAGE program helps organizations save energy and money by providing no-cost facility improvement recommendations, benchmarking services, energy master planning and financial incentives based on energy savings.

Bridging the gap between sustainable water management and economic development is the goal of the newly-established Oka’ Institute, housed in Fentem Hall, at East Central University.
With plans underway to expand degree options to include a master’s degree in water policy management, ECU provides a setting that has neutrality and objectivity while also being in the nucleus of multiple well-known water resources and environmental expertise.

In an effort to celebrate a new and innovative way to integrate science, technology, engineering and math into the school curriculum, East Central University will conduct the formal naming for its new Pitsco STEM Maker Space Lab on Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. on the first floor of the Lanoy Education Building.
STEM education is becoming more prevalent in today’s classrooms and thanks to a new initiative at ECU, pre-service teachers will not only experience STEM in an exciting way, but also become even more effective teachers by using these tools.

On Bastille Day, Thursday, July 14, ECU Screens will present a screening of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” at 7 p.m. in the Raymond J. Estep Multimedia Center at East Central University. The screening is a recorded live production of London’s Donmar Warehouse 2016.
The cost of attendance is $5 for ECU students and $10 for general admission. In the tradition of British theatre, audience members will be treated to free cups of Braum’s ice cream during intermission. One audience member will win a selection of snacks from France, a $49 value.

William Colbert could become a hero on the football field for the East Central University Tigers.
But first he became a hero on the lake during the Independence Day weekend.
Colbert, a sophomore-to-be and defensive back for ECU, helped save the life of a 7-year-old girl from drowning at Gladewater Lake, just about 10 minutes away from his home in Kilgore, Texas.

East Central University student Eric Rawls (left), of Earlsboro, was presented with the Bret D. Isenhower Scholarship by Major Kevin Roland during the recent Veterans and Military Appreciation Day in ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. In the center is Krysten Isenhower, sister of the late Bret D. Isenhower. The Bret D. Isenhower Scholarship is awarded each year to those who, by virtue of their commitments and actions, live up to Bret’s example. Bret was a soldier, firefighter and emergency dispatcher.
