    Dr. Robert Greenstreet, professor of communication studies and director of forensics at East Central University, has been honored by the Central States Communication Association Argumentation & Forensics Interest Group for his work as a professional director of forensics and communication scholar.

    The award was presented March 30 by Dr. Michael Bauer of Bowling Green State University at the annual CSCA convention in Cleveland, Ohio. Greenstreet is the only person so honored in the history of the association.

    Collage, East Central University’s dance ensemble, and other dance students will present their “Sharing Spaces” spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday [APRIL 27-28] in the Chalmers Herman Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.

    The East Central University Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 24 [TUESDAY] in the Kennedy Band Hall in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. Admission is free. The ensemble will open with “Doxy” by Sonny Rollins /Mark Taylor, featuring Erin Goto, alto sax; Kane Berry, tenor sax; Nathan Enns, trumpet; and Jessika Robertson, trombone.

    Alan Marcum, executive vice president for administration at Devon Energy, will be one of the executives advising high school students selected for a one-of-a-kind Oklahoma Business Week summer camp July 8-13 at ECU in Ada. Marcum is a graduate of ECU.

    Advice on how to negotiate the job market, prepare for interviews and get hired will be offered Wednesday [APRIL 25] at East Central University.

    Wendell Godwin, dean of ECU’s School of Business, will conduct a free seminar from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for students and community members seeking either full-time or part-time employment. The seminar will be held in the Estep Multimedia Center in the Bill Cole University Center.

    A Recycled Fashion Show has been added to the activities at the Oklahoma Green Expo Saturday [APRIL 20-21] at the Agriplex.

    Fourteen East Central University students in an intermediate construction techniques class will model recycled fashions at 1 p.m. on the stage at the Agriplex.

    The East Central University Singers will perform portions of Franz Schubert’s Mass in E flat (No. 6), and the select University Chorale will perform selections from its spring tour at 7:30 p.m. Monday [APRIL 23] in a concert at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

    Dr. Steven Walker, professor of music, will direct both groups in the free concert.

    Donations will be accepted, however, to help support a special tour next year for the University Chorale which has an opportunity to perform in Washington, D.C. Checks should payable to “University Chorale.”
