    The East Central University Jazz Ensemble and a Faculty Jazz Combo will perform at 7:30pm Tuesday [APRIL 20] in the Arthur J. Kennedy Band Hall in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

    Bill Anoatubby, governor of the Chickasaw Nation, will be honored as East Central University's 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year and will deliver the Leonard Limes Endowed Lecture at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday [APRIL 28] in the Estep Multimedia Center located in the Bill S. Cole University Center. The winners of the student business plan competition will be announced at the lecture, which is open to the public.

    Friday [APRIL 16] is the last day to reserve tickets for East Central University's Evening of Honors and Recognition, a dinner that will honor the university's 2010 distinguished alumni, family and former faculty member.

    The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. April 23 [FRIDAY] in the Stanley P. Wagner Ballroom in the Memorial Student Union.

    Dr. Karen Williams, professor of physics at East Central University, has received the Winter 2010 American Association of Physics Teachers Distinguished Service Citation.

    Awards will be presented Tuesday [APRIL 13] to East Central University art students based on their portfolio performance in the 55th annual Student Exhibition in the Pogue Art Gallery in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

    The scholarship awards will be presented at 5:30 p.m. during the opening reception which runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

    Pinwheel gardens have been planted at both Glenwood Early Childhood Center and East Central University in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The pinwheel is a symbol of the national theme, "It's Your Turn to Make a Difference."
