High school students interested in exploring science and mathematics in a real-world setting have the opportunity to participate in East Central University’s Upward Bound Math and Science Program for the 2014-2015 school year.
Fifteen openings are available for students interested in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields or have a desire to make them their careers. The
Program is primarily geared toward first-generation college students.

It’s official! East Central University is naming its football stadium Koi Ishto Stadium or ‘Big Cat’ in the Chickasaw language. The announcement was made Tuesday at the ECU Tiger Kick-off 2014 Dinner and Auction.
The name change is in honor of ECU’s relationship with the Native American population and the Chickasaw Nation.

ADA – Did you graduate from or attend East Central University? The ECU Alumni Association welcomes you to an Oklahoma City Area Alumni Reunion on Friday, Sept. 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 50th floor of the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City. The event will be held in the Southwest Ballroom, complete with hors d’oeuvres, memories and a stunning view from the top of the Devon Tower. The dress code is business casual.

ADA – East Central University head football coach Tim McCarty poses with a guitar autographed by country music stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. The guitar along with numerous other exciting and valuable prizes will be auctioned off at the ECU Tiger Kickoff 2014 Dinner and Live Auction on Tuesday, Aug. 19 in the ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 a table. Table sponsorships are available at $500.

Matthew Butler will enter uncharted territory and pursue a bachelor’s degree in the process this fall.
The East Central University business student has the opportunity to study abroad for one semester and earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Limoges in France.
A program was announced this spring in which ECU students, who have completed two years of business classes, can go to ECU’s sister institution in Limoges, France, attend seven classes and earn a degree from the University of Limoges.

The Upward Bound Program at East Central University is all about investing in the lives of high school students.
Upward Bound was established by the U.S. Department of Education in 1964 as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty. In 2014, Upward Bound is currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary on a national level.

“Willkommen in Deutschland” or “Welcome to Germany” can potentially be heard by East Central University students, who now have the opportunity to study abroad in Germany, thanks to an agreement reached between ECU and the University of Applied Sciences Biberach in Biberach, Germany.
University of Applied Sciences Biberach is a small institution of 2,500 students, situated in the southwest part of Germany, fairly close to the French and Swiss borders and less than two hours from the famed Black Forest.
