    • 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Residence Hall Move-In (At assigned time)                                 Residence Halls

      • New students will check in to their residence halls at their assigned time. Take opportunity to meet your roommate and unpack.

    • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Tiger Prep Check-in                                                                                      Centennial Plaza

      • All new students must check in to Tiger Prep.  Receive a welcome packet and name tag.

    • 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Lunch                                                                                                     

      • Have lunch at Chartwells, Food Trucks on Centennial Plaza, or try a local restaurant (use your ECU ID to get a discount at locations listed in the discount guide)

    • 2-3 p.m.: Welcome Event                                                                                                          Ataloa Theatre

      • Required for new students                                                                                       

        • President Pierson welcomes students and families to ECU.

    • 3-4:30 p.m.:   
      • Student/Faculty Division Event
        • Required for new students.
        • For new Students only.  Students will be led to department locations from Welcome Event.
      • Being the Parents of a College Student
        • Parents remain in Ataloa Theatre.
        • Dr. Brandon Hill will share tips on how to partner with ECU and your student for their success.
    • 4:45 p.m. - 5:30p.m.: Parent/Student Convocation                                                         Kerr Activity Center

      • Required for all new students

      • Begin with the End in Mind – Every stage of life has a beginning and an end.  The end is graduation – this is the beginning ceremony of your journey at East Central University. 

    • 5:45–7:30 p.m.: Dinner                                                                                                        Taff Cafeteria/Local Restaurants

      • Enjoy a family meal together in Chartwells, or at a local restaurant.  Dinner Tickets for Taff Dining Hall for family members must be purchased at Tiger Prep Check-in ($6). Students with meal plans will not need a ticket.  Please pay attention to your meal time in order to avoid a rush (5:45pm/6:15pm/6:45pm).   This will be the time to say family goodbyes.

    • 8 p.m. – Midnight: Community Life Session & Res. Hall Meetings                              Ataloa Theatre

      • For new students only (required).  Learn what opportunities and responsibilities you have while being part of the ECU Community.  After this event we will dismiss to required residence hall meetings and activities.   (Commuter students?)

  • Saturday 14 August 2021

    • 8 – 9 a.m.: Breakfast                                                                                                              Taff Cafeteria

    • 9 – 10 a.m.: Tiger Prep 1 (Topic: Understand)                                                                  Ataloa Theatre

      • Required for all new students

      • Join your fellow classmates and First Year Seminar Instructors to discover how to have a successful start to your academic career at ECU. 

    • 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: FYE Seminar Class                                                                           Various Locations

      • Required for all new students.

      • You will meet with your First Year Seminar Class to get opportunity to know your instructor and classmates better.  

      • Note: Transfer students not in First Year Seminar have the option to attend a Transfer Seminar during this time.                                                                                             Location TBD

    • 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m.: Lunch                                                                                                   Taff Cafeteria

    • 1 – 2 p.m.: FYE Seminar Class                                                                                            Various Locations

      • Required for all new students. 

      • Rejoin your First Year Seminar Class to learn about important technology and programs that you will need to know on your first day of class. 

      • Note: Transfer students not in First Year Seminar have the option to attend a Transfer Seminar during this time.                                                                                            

    • 2 – 3 p.m.: Workshop 1 Options (Optional)                                                                       Location TBD

    • 3 – 4 p.m.: Workshop 2 Options (Optional)

    • 5  - 6:30 p.m.: Dinner                                                                                                             Taff Cafeteria

    • 6 p.m. - Football Scrimmage                                                                                                Koi Ishto Stadium and other locations

      • Join your new friends at the football stadium to learn about our traditions and watch the football team have an intra-squad scrimmage.  Later there will be… other things to do TBD.

    • 9:00pm: Glow Paint Party
      • Put on some old white clothes and come to the Glow Paint Party where you will enjoy music, blacklights, and gallons of glow paint.
  • Sunday 15 August 2021

    • 3 – 5 p.m.: Social Activities 

    • 4:00PM - 6:00PM: Library Open House                                                     Library

      • Stop by the library to explore the study areas and services that the library has to offer.

  • 6 – 8 p.m.: Back to School "BLOCK PARTY"                                                                               Centennial Plaza

Join the community for one of ECUs favorite traditions – Student Clubs and Organizations etc.  Dinner will be served at this event.

8 p.m. – On: Residence Halls Community Time                                                                                    Residence Halls

Return to your residence halls for community building time and to get ready for school tomorrow.  Don’t stay up too late!
