Greetings ECU Students,

If you live in University housing and traveled outside of Oklahoma for Spring Break, do not return to campus for 14 days from the date you arrived home. This includes returning to campus to pick up your personal items and checking out of the residence hall. We cannot risk exposing others on campus.

If you live in the residence halls and traveled outside of Oklahoma and have already returned to campus, please notify the Housing Office immediately at housingresidencelife@ecok.edu.

We will ask that you self-quarantine and we will make arrangements for food drops.

On March 20, Housing Director Nick Buckley sent an email to students residing on campus and asked for them to complete a survey to determine who would be returning to campus. If you completed the survey, thank you for taking the time to help ECU in these tough times.

If you haven't completed the survey, please complete the survey. A PDF of the email is attached here. It was sent on March 20. If you have questions, please contact housingresidencelife@ecok.edu.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms (fever, cough, and shortness of breath) to severe illness and death for confirmed COVID-19 cases. The symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Be aware that a person may still spread the virus to others even though not displaying any symptoms; hence, the decision to ask you to self-quarantine for 14 days after traveling.

This is a difficult decision to make but one that must be made. A slight disruption to some will likely add another level of protection to countless others.

Stay safe and healthy.
