Dear East Central University Community,

If you traveled outside of Oklahoma for spring break, you are asked to stay home and self-monitor for 14 days from the time you arrived back home. Do not return to campus for 14 days from the date you arrived home. Students are being asked to not return to campus as well. A separate email has been sent to them.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms (fever, cough, and shortness of breath) to severe illness and death for confirmed COVID-19 cases. The symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. A person may still spread the virus to others even though not displaying any symptoms.

If you were scheduled to be on campus, notify your supervisor immediately so that other arrangements may be made.  If you are scheduled to telework and need equipment, we will arrange for delivery of your equipment.

A personnel leave policy related to COVID-19 is being developed to help clarify the many questions we have about day-to-day operations during this extraordinary time.

This is a difficult decision to make but one that must be made. A slight disruption to some will likely add another level of protection to countless others.

Stay safe and healthy.
