Vocal Teacher Certification Concentration

Teach. Perform. Inspire.

ECU’s Vocal Teacher Certification program prepares students to become certified vocal music educators for grades Pre-K through 12. Designed for those passionate about both performance and teaching, this concentration blends classical and contemporary vocal training with professional education coursework and hands-on classroom experience.

Students receive individualized voice instruction, participate in vocal ensembles—including the nationally recognized ECU Chorale—and engage in rigorous coursework in music theory, ear training, diction, pedagogy, conducting, and classroom management. Extensive performance and teaching opportunities prepare graduates to lead school music programs with confidence and creativity.
