Rooted in the liberal arts tradition, ECU’s Native American Studies (NAS) program emphasizes critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and effective communication. Students explore Native histories, cultures, governments, and contemporary issues—building a strong foundation for careers in education, public service, law, research, and community leadership.
This interdisciplinary program encourages students to thoughtfully engage with the experiences of Native peoples, past and present, and to apply that knowledge in real-world contexts.
