Andrew Wells, Ph.D. earned a Bachelor of Mathematics and Classical Studies from Hope College in 2005. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics in 2010 from Iowa State University. His primary fields of interest are in the areas of non-associative algebra, statistics, and data science. His current research centers around the using topological data analysis to detect data groups of unusual shape. He is a member of the Mathematical Association of America and has been teaching mathematics at East Central University since 2010.
