Dwight Hite

Dr. Hite holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of North Texas, an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, an M.S. in Water Resource Policy and Management and an M.A. in Criminal Justice Administration from East Central University, as well as, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and an A.S. in Business Administration from Grayson College, culminating in 15 years of education experience. Since joining ECU, Dr. Hite has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership and organizational behavior, principles of management, business ethics for accountants, strategic management, introduction to graduate business studies, and research methods for managerial decision-making, among others. Prior to joining East Central University, he held teaching positions at Cameron University and the University of North Texas, where he taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses including leadership, change management, organizational behavior, human resource management, operations management, business ethics, and general management courses, altogether garnering over 20 years of teaching experience. While Dr. Hite’s academic experience is quite extensive, he also has 15 years of industry experience in management. Dr. Hite’s professional career experience includes working at Motorola, the Venator Group, Cinemark USA, and serving in the U.S. Army – 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. This experience involves managing personnel and resources in various contexts, including service and distribution facilities. Dr. Hite’s research interests include cross-cultural management, leadership modeling, computer-mediated communications, modern and traditional work ethic, social behavior and leadership in virtual communities, psychometric development and testing, non-linear and multi-level modeling methodologies, social identity, and anti-normative behavior. He has presented his research at international, national, and regional conferences, and his work has been published in refereed journals such as Cross-Cultural Management: An International Journal, the Journal of Leadership Education, the Journal of Methods and Measurement in the Social Sciences, the Journal of Applied Business and Economics, and Information and Computer Security.
