Pauline Pitt

Dr. Paulette Pitt is an Assistant Professor,  Licensed Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist whose research focuses on the intersection of child and adolescent mental health, psychological assessment, special education, and education law. Her scholarly interests include behavioral and emotional disorders, risk behaviors among children and adolescents, school-based mental health, and the identification of factors that influence educational and developmental outcomes. Dr. Pitt's work emphasizes legally defensible evaluation and eligibility practices under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), educational decision-making, and the application of psychological science to improve services for students with complex educational and behavioral needs. Through her research, teaching, and professional service, she is committed to advancing evidence-based, ethically sound, and legally informed practices that promote equitable educational opportunities and positive outcomes for all students.
