ADA, OKLA. – Following a nationwide search, East Central University is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary LaMack as Director of Information Technology. LaMack, who has been with ECU since 2013 has served as Assistant Director and officially assumes the role after a competitive search process that drew candidates from across the country.
The search committee, composed of representatives from multiple departments across campus, conducted an extensive review and interview process. After the initial round of virtual interviews, three finalists were invited to campus for in-person interviews, with candidates traveling from as far as New Mexico and Virginia.
"Mary’s deep institutional knowledge, extensive experience, and proven leadership made her the clear choice for this role," said Darrell Morrison, Vice President for Administration and Finance. "Her professionalism, vision for cybersecurity and infrastructure, and dedication to ECU’s mission will continue to move our campus technology forward."
LaMack brings more than 33 years of experience in information technology and over 25 years in project and team management. She received her B.S. in Computer Science from ECU in 2014, and her Master of Management from ECU in 2024 and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
During her time at ECU, LaMack has led the implementation of multiple key campus technology initiatives, including Ellucian Colleague ERP, Microsoft Intune, and major upgrades to server and network infrastructure. She has been instrumental in drafting cybersecurity policies, coordinating risk assessments, and ensuring federal compliance through annual security audits.
LaMack is also an active member of the Council on Information Technology for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the FBI’s InfraGard cybersecurity network.
Her appointment takes effect immediately.
