ADA, Okla. – The Global Education Program at East Central University will present “A Night on the World: Transforming Lives with Global Education” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the Estep Multimedia Center inside the Bill S. Cole University Center.

A follow-up event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Estep Multimedia Center.

“Like the title says, Global Education is something that transforms your life,” said ECU’s Director of Global Education Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya. “It is a very powerful tool to enhance your own life as well as to improve life in your own country by sharing your experiences and the things you learn.”

A Night on the World will serve as a conference for students interested in participating in the Global Education Program. Attendees will hear from current and former students who participated in the program, as well as representatives from ECU’s various sister universities, including the University of Applied Sciences in Biberach, Germany and the University of Limoges in Limoges, France, among others.

Information and testimonials will be provided about the previously mentioned universities, as well as the University of Extramadura in Cáceres, Spain; Swansea University in Wales, United Kingdom; the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná PUCPR, located in Curitiba, Brazil; and more. 

“We want to expand the horizons for our students,” said Sukholutskaya. “We want to have the world represented inside the Estep auditorium so students don’t have to learn just from a brochure but from real people.”
