ADA, Okla. – The Stonecipher School of Business at East Central University (ECU) announces the launch of a new online Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Management.
“The Stonecipher School of Business faculty added a healthcare management option to our degree programs based on the needs of our community and beyond in the healthcare industry,” said Gary Tucker, chair of Business Administration at ECU. “The healthcare industry currently employs over 21 million people across disciplines and is expected to add more jobs than any other industry over the next decade.”
Healthcare currently accounts for nearly 18% of the U.S. GDP.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projected a 29% growth in health services management jobs from 2023-2033, equating to over 160,000 new jobs.
“The growth in this area of business is driven by several factors such as the aging population, a push towards value-based care, and increased focus on regulatory quality metrics,” Tucker added.
This new concentration in Health Care Management combines core business knowledge with specialized training for the healthcare industry. Students gain practical, industry-relevant skills to manage operations, improve patient services, and lead effectively in healthcare environments.
Program Highlights:
- 100% online and designed for flexibility
- Focus on healthcare systems, policy, administration, and leadership
- Prepares students for roles in hospitals, clinics, public health, and healthcare organizations
- Strong foundation in business principles with a healthcare emphasis
Tucker concluded, “Our degree is designed to provide students with the tools to be successful as they move into their careers. Additionally, our degree prepares our students for a changing healthcare industry and equips them with skills that can be built on as their career progresses.”
