ADA, Okla. – East Central University President Wendell Godwin has announced the students selected for the 2025-26 President’s Leadership Class (PLC).

PLC is one of the university’s premier freshmen scholarship programs, comprised of high-achieving students who demonstrated leadership skills in high school.

Each year, 24-26 students are selected for the program. PLC members engage with campus, community and state leaders, as well as volunteer at local schools and events. They also participate in exclusive leadership seminars, retreats and service projects and travel to major U.S. cities to expand their understanding of leadership and civic engagement.

“I am excited to announce the 26 ECU students who have been selected for the 2025 President’s Leadership Class,” said Godwin. “PLC allows me the opportunity to work personally with each of these promising students. I teach their leadership and ethics classes, accompany them on a class trip to New York City this fall, and support the students as they navigate their college experience. This program has proven to be a rewarding experience for everyone involved.”
