ADA, Okla. – Pontotoc County Assistant District Attorney Krystina Phillips was selected as the Law Day speaker for East Central University’s Legal Studies program. Her talk will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center on the campus of ECU. A lunch will follow her address.

Phillips is the principal deputy to District Attorney Erik Johnson. She joined the DA’s office as the Chief of the Civil Division in 2023 and was elevated to her current position in 2025.
Before coming to the DA’s office, Phillips legal practice focused on civil litigation, Indian law, and environmental law. She was a partner with Indian and Environmental Law Group, PLLC.
Phillips graduated from OSU with a B.S. in Agribusiness and earned her law degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She is active in the community and serves as an adjunct in ECU’s Water Resource Policy and Management master of science degree program.

Celebrating Law Day in the United States was the idea of lawyer Hicks Epson of Wewoka who began the practice in 1953. It is now celebrated nationally by bar associations in every state.
