ADA, Okla. – For the third year in a row, East Central University proudly announces the continuation of Tiger Tangles: There’s No Place Like ECU. The event is set for Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Ataloa Theatre, located inside the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

Tiger Tangles is a talent show featuring ECU students that traces its origins as far back as the 1950’s, under a variety of names. It was rechristened with the Tiger Tangles moniker in the early 1960’s and quickly became a cherished staple on the ECU campus until the late 1990’s.

The talent show made its triumphant return in 2024 with more than 900 students, alumni and community members filling the Ataloa Theatre to watch 20 separate student performances.

Students will compete in four categories: Greek Group Act, Club/Organization Act, Independent Group Act and Solo Act.

Cash prizes, totaling $5,000, will be given to the top three places for each category, with the overall winner and crowd choice winner receiving an additional $500 each.

“Since Tiger Tangle’s return, we’ve come close to selling out tickets every time and we expect an even bigger attendance this year,” said Jamie Davis, ECU’s Director of Event Management. “So please, be sure to get your tickets in advance and don’t miss out on another exciting show!”

General admission tickets are $10.

ECU students, staff and faculty receive free admission with their university ID.
