Pride of Tigerland Marching Band

The Pride of Tigerland is ECU’s premier marching ensemble and one of the largest student organizations on campus, with over 140 members. As the heart of the ECU Athletic Bands, the Pride energizes crowds and elevates school spirit at football games, campus events, and regional exhibitions.

Performing on the artificial turf of Norris Field, the band entertains some of the largest audiences in southeastern Oklahoma. In addition to supporting ECU Athletics, the Pride of Tigerland showcases its talent at high school exhibitions and competitions throughout the region—including ECU’s own Tigerpalooza Marching Contest each fall.

Join the tradition. Be part of the Pride!

ECU Jazz Band

The ECU Jazz Band is a select, audition-based performance ensemble that explores a wide range of jazz styles—from classic big band swing to fusion, bebop, rock, and pop.

Students develop core jazz performance skills, including:

  • Swing and bebop articulation

  • Jazz phrasing and style

  • Improvisation techniques

Depending on enrollment, the Jazz Band may be divided into two or more groups. These ensembles perform three to five concerts per year, both on and off campus.
