School of Fine Arts

East Central University’s School of Fine Arts is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and includes the departments of Art + Design: Media + Communication (ADMC) and Performing Arts. Both are located in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center, which features classrooms, studios, labs, performance spaces, an art gallery, and a 1,080-seat theatre.

ART + DESIGN : MEDIA + COMMUNICATION

Students in ADMC build their own artistic styles while thriving in a close, supportive community. Their work spans from traditional to contemporary and is showcased in both student and professional exhibitions. With guidance from active faculty, students also inspire and learn from one another.

Art Program
Offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) with concentrations in:

Media + Communication
Prepares students for careers in media, business, government, or graduate school. Students learn to communicate effectively across print, digital, video, and audio platforms.

 PERFORMING ARTS

Performing Arts students at ECU engage in a wide range of creative opportunities. They perform in stage productions, compete in intercollegiate speech and debate, and participate in national events like the American College Theatre Festival and the American College Dance Association Festival.

Music at ECU
The Music program provides a strong foundation for professional careers in music while enriching campus and community life. Students—regardless of major—can join a variety of ensembles, including:
