All scholarships require full-time attendance (12 hours for undergraduate; 6 hours
                                 for graduate) unless indicated otherwise.
                                 All scholarships require a 3.0 cumulative GPA unless indicated otherwise.
                                 All scholarships are for fall and/or spring semester only (summer not included) unless
                                 indicated otherwise.
                                 All recipients are recommended by the department, with final approval by the ECU Foundation
                                 Scholarship Committee.
                                 Any exceptions must be approved by the department chair and the Foundation Scholarship
                                 Committee.
BRILES SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded based on need and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Originally established
                                 as a part of the Federal Student Loan Program, this scholarship was transferred to
                                 the ECU Foundation in 1995.
JUDY CRABTREE MEMORIAL PSYCHOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student majoring in Psychology.
                                 The family of Mrs. Crabtree established this scholarship in her memory.
DCT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded to graduate students who have been unconditionally
                                 admitted to their program, of Education, Psychology, or Kinesiology. The recipient's
                                 graduate GPA must be a 3.5 or above and he/she must be enrolled in a minimum of three hours
                                 of graduate coursework in their program area. This scholarship is awarded at the discretion
                                 of the College of Education and Psychology Scholarship Committee, or their chosen
                                 designee, and can be used for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.
DR. BILL AND CAROL HEITLAND EDUCATION & PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP 
                                 This scholarship will be awarded to a graduate level student with a declared major
                                 of Counseling Psychology or School Psychology.  Preference will be given to students
                                 with a 3.0 GPA or above.  A GPA below 3.0 may be considered if the student is reflected
                                 to be deserving by the College of Education & Psychology Scholarship Committee.  Preference
                                 will be given to minority students, specifically students of color.  This scholarship
                                 was established by friends of family of Dr. Bill and Carol Heitland for their many
                                 years of service to ECU and the College of Education & Psychology as well as their
                                 service outside of the University for the well-being of others. 
HIGGINBOTHAM FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the Psychology Department. 
                                 Dorothy Higginbotham was an ECU graduate who understood and appreciated the value
                                 of higher education and she established this scholarship as part of her estate planning.
E.H. NELSON PSYCHOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded to assist with the purchase of books for a Psychology
                                 major. Dr. Nelson was a long-time member of the Psychology faculty and this scholarship
                                 was established in his honor and memory.
ESSIE ROARK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND PSYCHOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
                                 This scholarship will be awarded to graduate students who have been unconditionally
                                 admitted to their program of Education, Psychology, or Kinesiology. The recipient's
                                 graduate GPA must be a 3.5 or above and he/she must be enrolled in a minimum of three
                                 hours of graduate coursework in their program area. This scholarship is awarded at
                                 the discretion of the College of Education and Psychology Scholarship Committee, or
                                 their chosen designee, and can be used for fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.
