ECU Freshman Resident Scholarship Opportunities
At East Central University, we’re committed to making higher education affordable and accessible. Incoming freshmen who are Oklahoma residents have access to a variety of scholarship opportunities to help reduce the cost of attendance.

Please Note:
Scholarship selection is a competitive process. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an award.
Deadline: Submit your completed application by February 1 for priority consideration.
Teacher’s Promise Scholarship
- Amount:
Up to $6,000 total
($750 per semester for up to 8 semesters) - Eligibility:
Available exclusively to dependents of Oklahoma public school teachers.
Honors Scholarship
- Amount
Tuition: $14,000
($1,750 x 8 semesters) - Eligibility
- 24+ on a national ACT, minimum
- 3.5 GPA

Scholarship Details
- All students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) the next academic year.
- All fees and meal plans are not included with tuition or room waivers.
- All scholarships are not automatic and are awarded based on the availability of funds.
- You may be eligible for Freshman, Transfer, and Foundation Scholarships if you complete the application by February 1.
- Each student that qualifies for a scholarship will be sent a letter and contract that he/she must fill out and submit to accept the award.
- Please be aware that although you may qualify to apply for a specific scholarship, it is not assured you will be offered that scholarship. Due to the limited number of scholarships and the high number of applicants each year, the scholarship process is very competitive.
