Get a Head Start on College with Concurrent Enrollment!

ECU offers eligible Oklahoma High School juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit through concurrent enrollment.

Who Can Participate?

  • Oklahoma Residents Only
  • High School Seniors: May enroll in up to 18 credit hours (tuition waived for up to 18 hours across summer, fall and spring)
  • High School Juniors: May enroll in up to 9 credit hours (tuition waived for 9 hours total)

Note: Students are resonsible for textbooks, course fees and any additional charges.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet one of the following:

  • 3.0 GPA (unweighted) and Top 50% of class, OR
  • ACT/Pre-ACT Composite Score of 20, OR
  • ACT Subject Score of 19+ in the relevant subject area (math, English, or science)

Enrollment Restrictions

  • Maximum 19 combined semester hours (college + high school)
  • Summer limit: 9 hours
  • Must maintain a 2.0 college GPA to continue
  • High school non-academic classes (e.g., athletics, office aide) no longer count in hour calculations
  • Most classes are 3 credit hours; science and Kinesiology may vary

How to Apply

Submit the following to the Office of Admissions & Records:

  1. Apply Online
  2. Concurrent Enrollment Verification Form
  3. High School Transcript 
  4. ACT Scores (official report or listed on transcript)

Enrollment Process

You may access course descriptions in the ECU Course Catalog and you may search for courses and course sections int the Catalog Advanced Search.  

  • New Concurrent Students: Must schedule an in-person advising appointment after admission
  • Returning Concurrent Students: May bring updated documents to their appointment or request enrollment via email at asc@ecok.edu
  • During the appointment, advisors will assist with ECU email setup, course selection, and student systems

Online Course Information

  • Require strong reading, tech skills, and self-discipline
  • Fill quickly—enroll early!
  • May require proctored exams or on-campus testing
  • Additional fees and required textbooks/codes may apply

Important Reminders

  • Students cannot enroll until officially admitted
  • Holds (such as missing or outdated transcripts) must be resolved before enrollment
  • If exceeding the 19-hour limit is necessary, students must apply for an overload.
