A practice Law School Admission Test will be offered Saturday [JULY 18] at East Central University. A good score on the LSAT is necessary to be admitted to law school.
The test will be administered by Evan Dillow, director of Norman's Kaplan Test Preparation and Admissions Center. Actual testing conditions will be simulated during the test, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. in the Estep Multimedia Center in the University Center. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
A student's college grade point average, LSAT and letters of recommendation are the three critical pieces of information law school admissions officials examine. A low LSAT score can keep an otherwise excellent student out, said Dr. Christine Pappas, ECU's pre-law advisor.
"I think with today's economy, law schools will see more applicants than in recent years," she said. "That's why we need to do everything we can to prepare ECU graduates to be as competitive as possible. One of the best ways to boost an LSAT score is to take the test repeatedly and become familiar with it."
