Freshman Scholarships


Apply for acceptance online here and Freshmen who are Oklahoma residents will be automatically considered for the following ECU Scholarships (excluding Teacher’s Promise, Honors Program & ECU Foundation).

East Central University Scholarships

ASAP Scholarship 

  • Amount
    • o    $3,500 Scholarship ($1000 for tuition & $750 for housing for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters).
  • Eligibility
    • First Time ECU Students (Freshman or Transfer). International Students and Returning and Current ECU students aren't eligible.
    • You must be enrolled full-time which is at least 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours for graduate students.
    • You must live on campus in the residence hall. 
    • You must have a job and work at least 10 hours per week.
    • Scholarships will be awarded closer to the start of the Fall 2024 semester and we will confirm that you have met these conditions before the scholarship is awarded.

Oklahoma’s Academic Scholar

  • Amount
    • Tuition: Full Tuition
    • Room: $9,200 ($1,150 x 8 semesters)
    • Cash Award: $16,000 ($2,000 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 99.5 percentile on national ACT/SAT.

Academic Scholar Institutional Nominee

  • Amount
    • Tuition: Full Tuition
    • Room: $9,200 ($1,150 x 8 semesters)
    • Cash Award: $8,000 ($1,000 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 30 on national ACT/SAT OR 3.8 unweighted GPA AND rank in top 4% of graduating class or 28 on national ACT/SAT and a 3.8 unweighted GPA.

Baccalaureate Scholarship

  • Amount
    • Tuition: Full Tuition
    • Room: $9,200 ($1,150 x 8 semesters)
    • Cash Award: $12,000 ($1,500 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • Minimum 30 ACT on national ACT test and minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA.

Governor's Scholarship

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $12,000 ($1,500 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 28+ on a national ACT
       


Honors Program

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $14,000 ($1,750 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 24+ on a national ACT, minimum 3.5 GPA, AND successful application with interview. Find the application here.

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $6,000 ($750 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility

The following ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded based upon a point total using the following formula:
(High School Cumulative GPA x 100) + (ACT Composite Score x 10)

 

 

Academic Distinction Scholar

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $6,000 ($750 x 8 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 640 and Up
       

Academic Achievement Scholar

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $5,200 ($1,300 x 4 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 605 and Up
       

Academic Freshman Scholar

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $1,500 ($750 x 2 semesters)
  • Eligibility
    • 567 and Up

President’s Leadership Class

  • Amount
    • Tuition: $1,500 ($750 x 2 semesters)
  • Eligibility
