Artworks from Ada area high schools will be showcased Dec. 17-19 as East Central University’s Pogue Gallery will host an exhibit entitled “HS:X1 High School Exhibition 1.”

The exhibit, free and open to the public, will feature 25 artworks of various media from Ada, Byng and Latta High Schools. Gallery hours are from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and a reception for the student artists will be conducted Dec. 15 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Pogue Gallery on the east side of the Halllie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

“ECU used to feature works from high school students more frequently and we want to return to recognizing their artistic achievements,” said ECU Fine Arts Director Brad Jessop. “Utilizing a period when the gallery was traditionally dark seemed to make a lot of sense in that regard.”
