Beth Vezina, who was named East Central University’s Outstanding Business Graduate for 1973, has excelled in the auditing and management consulting fields while also serving in various volunteer capacities.

 

Vezina will be honored for her efforts and will receive the Distinguished Service Award at the 2019 Evening of Honors and Recognition on Friday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. in ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center.

 

While at ECU, Vezina (Beth Spence) was active in band, flag corps and in the business fraternity Phi Beta Lamda. She was the local president and state vice president of Phi Beta Lamda her senior year.

 

Upon graduation, she began her career as an auditor for Horne and Company in Ada. From there, Vezina moved on to various CPA firms in Oklahoma City and Dallas, Texas. Later, she embarked upon a career in management consulting with Grant Thornton and that year became a CPA in the state of Texas.

 

Vezina later moved into computer system consulting with Arthur Young, EDS, SAP, IBM and Accenture. She also held IT related positions with Safety-Kleen and American Airlines. Her work has taken her to Singapore, Germany and Italy as well as various cities throughout the United States.

 

She is a past president of the ECU Alumni Association and has worked in various volunteer capacities such as teaching Sunday School, serving as a Boy Scout leader and working with the PTA. She and her husband Normand recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They also have a daughter and a son.
