Dates: June 29th – July 2nd
This camp is designed to show students the professional ecosystem behind the screen,
focusing on technical hardware, production, and leadership.
-
Computer Building & Hardware: A hands-on deep dive into the "guts" of a gaming PC. Students will learn to identify
components like the CPU, GPU, and RAM, practice safe installation, and learn basic
troubleshooting for common hardware issues.
-
Broadcast & Production: An introduction to the "Control Room." Students will learn to use OBS (Open Broadcaster
Software), manage stream overlays, and practice the fundamentals of shoutcasting and
technical directing for live matches.
-
Team Management & Coaching: Moving from "player" to "leader." This module covers VOD review techniques, drafting
strategies, and how to manage team communication and player psychology during high-pressure
collegiate-level play.
-
Event Coordination: The week’s capstone project. Students will collaborate to plan, seed, and execute
a mini-tournament, taking on the roles of tournament organizers and referees.

Dates: July 21st – July 24th
As this is the inaugural run for this style of camp, the focus is on building a game
from the ground up using professional design principles and Luau scripting.
-
Roblox Studio Basics: Mastering the 3D workspace. Students will learn to navigate the environment, use
the Explorer and Properties panels, and manipulate "Parts" to build their first game
structures.
-
Intro to Scripting (Luau): Learning the logic of game mechanics. This covers variables, functions, and "Touched"
events—the building blocks for traps, teleporters, and interactive power-ups.
-
Level Design & World Building: * Environmental Storytelling: Using the Terrain Editor and lighting to create atmosphere (e.g., a neon-lit cyberpunk
city or a dense jungle).
-
Player Pathing: Designing maps that guide players naturally toward objectives using "choke points"
and visual cues.
-
Character Design & NPCs: * Custom Avatars: Using the "Rig Builder" to create unique characters and designing custom clothing/accessories.
-
Dialogue Trees: Setting up NPC (Non-Player Character) interactions to provide quests or lore, making
the world feel alive.
