The East Central University Police Department operates around the clock with uniformed, state-certified officers dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure campus. Our team enforces all local, state, and federal laws and upholds university policies.

Patrol & Response

Continuous vehicle and foot patrols across all campus areas
Assistance with after-hours building access (with valid ECU ID)

Campus Safety & Enforcement

Zero Tolerance Policy: ECU strictly prohibits the use or possession of alcohol and illegal drugs on campus.
Law Enforcement Authority: Officers are fully empowered to enforce laws and university regulations.

Drug & Alcohol Support
Referral services are available for students and employees. Educational programs on substance abuse prevention can be scheduled for any group.
Safety Seminars
Available upon request for ECU student and employee groups. Topics include:

- Personal safety tips
- Sexual assault prevention
- Theft prevention
