If you see fire or smoke, act immediately—every second counts.

Fire Alarm Signal

• The continuous ringing of the fire alarm signals a fire emergency.

• In the event of a power outage, follow verbal instructions from ECU staff or housing personnel.

🚨 What To Do If You Discover a Fire

• Activate the Alarm
  Pull the nearest fire alarm
  Shout to alert others nearby

• Report the Fire
  Call 911 and contact ECU Police at 580-559-5555
  Provide your name and the building name

• Evacuate Immediately

  Leave the building using the nearest safe exit.

• Do not use elevators
  Use enclosed stairwells if available
  Stay at least 500 feet away from the building
  Do not re-enter the building until the Ada Fire Department gives the "all clear"
