Mr. Powers earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from MidAmerica Nazarene University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Benedictine College. He has directed leadership development and human resource management programs for over 20 years and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional. As Vice President of Human Resources at Lakeview Village, Mr. Powers led the implementation of multiple strategic initiatives including leadership development and employee engagement, and he also served as the organization’s corporate compliance officer. Prior to Lakeview Village, Mr. Powers was Director of Training and Development at John Knox Village where he developed a corporate university with an emphasis on leadership and customer service. He also led strategic planning and organization development initiatives for several operational groups resulting in improved service delivery and increased revenues. Mr. Powers started his professional career as Director of Human Resources at the Crittenton Center in Kansas City where he developed and implemented a new human resources department for a growing children’s health care organization. In 2008, Mr. Powers transitioned from corporate management to a focus on teaching and consulting. As a visiting professor of management at Fort Hays State University, he spent a full year living abroad teaching undergraduate courses in China. He also traveled extensively in Vietnam and China teaching graduate management courses as a lecturer with Benedictine University. In addition, he has served on the adjunct faculty of Fort Hays State University and MidAmerica Nazarene University. As a consultant, Mr. Powers has provided management consulting and speaking services to numerous organizations.
