Job Title: Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management

Position Overview: East Central University (ECU) in Ada, Oklahoma, is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in information technology management, conducting scholarly research, and contributing to the academic and professional development of students.

The department of business administration resides in the Stonecipher School of Business. The Stonecipher School of Business (SSB) offers undergraduate degrees in finance, accounting, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, general business, information technology management, data analytics, and project management along with graduate degrees in accounting and management.

The school also offers nine certificate degree programs including banking and finance, entrepreneurship, management information systems, human resource management, promotions management, treasury management, managerial accounting, and global business. The SSB is accredited through the Accreditation Council of Business Programs (ACBSP).

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach undergraduate courses in information technology management, including but not limited to:
    • Management Information Systems
    • Database Theory and Applications
    • Project Management
    • Cybersecurity
    • Web Development
    • Data Analytics and Visualization
    • Data Communication and Networking
    • Emerging Trends in Information Technology
  2. Develop and deliver course materials that engage students and promote active learning.
  3. Advise and mentor students, providing academic and career guidance.
  4. Engage in scholarly research in information technology management, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentations at academic conferences.
  5. Participate in departmental and university service activities, including committee assignments and curriculum development.
  6. Stay current with developments in the field of information technology management and integrate relevant industry trends and best practices into teaching and research activities.

Qualifications:

  1. A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution (applicants near completion of their doctoral degree will be considered).
  2. Demonstrated expertise in information technology management, with a focus on areas such as database management, IT project management, information security, data analytics, or related fields.
  3. Evidence of effective teaching ability, preferably at the undergraduate level.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with students.
  5. Commitment to scholarly research and a record of or potential for publications in reputable academic journals.
  6. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service activities.
  7. Experience or willingness to engage in community outreach or industry partnerships related to information technology management.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications.
