Job Title:          Director of Alumni Relations
Reports To:      Vice President for Institutional Advancement

SUMMARY:

The East Central University Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a Director of Alumni Relations. Candidate must be organized, an effective communicator and have the ability to master technology used on a daily basis.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Knowledge of and experience in higher education environments (academic or administrative).
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Knowledge of communications and marketing strategies and trends.
•    Ability to develop new strategies to increase alumni engagement
•    Experience in event planning and managing volunteers is a plus.
•    Ability to monitoring the integrity of the information contained in the database and determining how to translate data into usable, actionable information for the formation and execution of fundraising strategies and metrics.
•    Experience managing and working with a Content Management System (permeably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT)

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•    Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or another applicable field.
•    Three (3) years of related experience in the fields of communications and marketing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and maintains alumni database, Blackbaud. Responsible for data entry and mm1ing queries and reports.
 
• Manage, plan and execute events for the alumni office, including, but not limited to, Homecoming Weekend, Alumni &Friends Events hosted in Oklahoma and Texas, and Alumni Association Retreat.
• Establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program and service initiatives; and effect changes required for improvement.
• Assist the ECU Foundation and Office of Institutional Advancement with campaigns, donor relations and related activities.

Communications
•    Oversee the alumni association benefits program, develop and maintaining relationships with organizations offering discounts.
•    Manage the design and execution of invitations, emails, brochures, postcards and direct mail pieces sent to alumni.
•    Maintain the alumni web content and social media sites.

Volunteer Management
•    Coordinate and manage alumni volunteers.
•    Support the ECU Alumni Executive Committee with management of the Alumni Association Board, overseeing committee work and requested event planning.

 

SALARY RANGE:
$35,000 - $40,000
