Job Title: Director of Communications and Marketing

Summary:
The Director of Communications and Marketing at East Central University (ECU) is responsible
for overseeing all marketing and communication efforts. This includes leading a team in
developing and executing internal and external communication and marketing strategies. The
ideal candidate will possess creativity, attention to detail, exceptional editing and writing skills,
and a proven track record in reaching defined target markets. They will effectively articulate
ECU’s evolving story through various communication channels.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership/Experience:
• Possess strong multitasking and organizational skills to meet priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
• Demonstrate excellent management and leadership skills.
• Have a demonstrated track record of success and performance.
• Be a creative and analytical thinker, capable of working independently or in groups.
• Train and leverage staff and student workers.

Marketing:
• Coordinate, design, and oversee all marketing materials.
• Research various markets and develop successful marketing strategies.
• Continuously explore new methods to raise awareness about ECU.
• Experience in image, recruitment, and fundraising campaigns is desired.
• Collaborate with agencies to manage paid advertising (PPC) accounts for optimal results.

Communications:
• Oversee all university communications, including internal and external channels such as
news releases, social media, and emails.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Act as a liaison between the media and ECU.
• Possess a strong knowledge of AP style.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing, grammar,
and proofreading.

Website:
• Manage website content and oversee Content Management System
• Stay updated on the latest changes in SEO algorithms.
• Regularly review and update key pages on the website.
• Ensure website accessibility standards are met.
• Experience with Modern Campus and Cludo is a plus.

Technology:
• Possess knowledge of cameras, design/editing software, and printers.
• Experience in video and photography.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other creative software.
• Demonstrate willingness and enthusiasm for learning new technologies to support
evolving needs.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Minimum of seven years of experience in a related field.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
