Job Title: Events Grounds Set-up Crew

Report To: Grounds Supervisor 

Salary: $22,000

 

SUMMARY

The Facility Events Worker will ensure event set-up, assistance during events, and clean up after events follows established checklists. This person will work with the Physical Plant department to ensure a well-maintained, safe, and secure educational environment.  The Events Grounds Set-up member will provide work order and special event facilitation as well as completion of routine grounds maintenance responsibilities, and help with setting up venues for events, including chairs, tables, stages, and light and sound equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Supervise, organize, track event setup i.e. athletics, academic and support for dinning events.

·        Set up may include but not be limited to, table’s chairs, tents, trash receptacles and traffic control barricades.

·        Follows applicable event checklist; assists during events and cleans up after events-preparing the area for next day use.

·        Set up, break down, store and clean of event equipment, space and vehicles.

·        Maintain the University grounds including mowing, raking, plant maintenance, lawn care, trail maintenance, and snow removal.

·        Provide support to projects which enhance the campus including new plantings, mulching, signage, and other small projects.

·        Perform work, as assigned, to properly maintain athletic facilities including the lawn care, playing surface maintenance, lining of fields, ice making, and ice grooming operations.

·        Complete manual tasks as required to meet the needs of the College, such as digging, shoveling, lifting, pushing, and similar tasks requiring physical labor.

·        Properly and safely operate grounds department equipment, as assigned by the supervisor, including trucks, tractors, riding mowers, forklift, and bobcat.

·        Operation of company vehicles to perform on the job duties.

·        Assist Grounds as needed.

·        Other duties may be assigned by the Grounds Supervisor or designee.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/ or training.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have Oklahoma driver’s license

 

Language skills

Must be able to orally communicate in fluent English, using a two-way radio system. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and implement verbal and written instructions.

 

Other skills and abilities

Ability to use hand tools and power tools common to the custodial trade, knowledge of chemicals used in the custodial trade. Employee must have good organizational skills.

Experience setting up and preparing for events is a plus.
