Job Title: Graduate Advisor
Reports To: Dean of Graduate School
FSLA: Exempt
Salary: $38,000 - $42,000

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graduate Advisor is responsible for reviewing transfer work, providing academic advice, and assisting incoming students with enrollment for the current semester

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
•    Understands all ECU degree requirements
•    Understands all ECU program articulations
•    Admits students to Graduate Program
•    Compiles advising files for each student assigned
•    Develops a degree plan for student
•    Provides academic advice and helps students enroll in recommended courses
•    Performs degree auditing and graduation processing
•    Helps with Graduate Commencement
•    Travels for necessary training

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


•    Demonstrate working knowledge of office practices and methods.
•    Coordinate work with other employees.
•    Organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on university policy and procedures.
•    Establish and maintain effective work relationships with all stakeholders—faculty, staff, students, and the community.
•    Provide a friendly, customer-service environment.
•    Maintain confidentiality regarding protected information.
•    Manage deadlines on multiple projects.
•    Ability to work unsupervised
•    Effectively use office equipment and software including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with appropriate experience in the field of academic advising highly desired.
