SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator is a part-time position during the academic year and summer. The Project Coordinator will primarily assist the MS PHD’S PI/Program Director in planning, logistical operations and execution of all events and activities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree and/or working experience in Geoscience-related field.
Past experience in MS PHD’S Programming as a student participant, mentor, Dream Team Member, and/or staff.
Ability to display initiative and assume responsibilities, have a positive attitude when dealing with coworkers, program participants, and stakeholders.
Ability to manage and maintain participant records (online and hard copy). Excellent computer skills (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.), and verbal skills are required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Coordinator will serve as a member of the Leadership Team. The Project Coordinator will:
(a)    develop recruitment strategies for future student participants and mentors;
(b)    identify and recruit key organizations and individuals to facilitate involvement of participants; and
(c)    develop specific strategies to enhance broader impact.
The Project Coordinator will utilize guidance and insight from the MS PHD’S Advisory Board, MS PHD’S alumni and staff.
The Project Coordinator will contribute to the MS PHD’S longitudinal study and program evaluation process by assisting in the administration of surveys and working with a database specialist to obtain updated MS PHD’S alumni profile information for inclusion on the program’s new MS PHD’S website. The Project Coordinator will work closely with senior program leadership to fulfill other duties as required.
 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be self‐directed, very resourceful, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possess a positive attitude. Must have good oral communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, as well as task oriented. Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Applications to include Outlook, Word and Excel; experience or training in accounting procedures is preferred.

Additional duties of this position require the employee to walk on campus grounds, as well as, occasionally lifting and loading of office supplies. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.


ANNUAL PART-TIME SALARY: $9,899.00
