SUMMARY:

The office manager’s position is full-time during the academic year and the summer. The education, experience, duties, and responsibilities of the office manager will directly affect the accomplishment of all project objectives. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 1-year experience in secretarial and/or office management and a high school diploma. College or vo-tech training with experience in managing an office setting preferred.

Ability to display initiative and assume responsibilities, have a positive attitude when dealing with coworkers, participants, parents, and ECU and target school administration. 

Ability to manage and maintain student records (online and hard copy). Excellent computer skills (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.), and verbal skills are required. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The Office Manager will be responsible for opening the office at 8:00 a.m. and closing the office at 5:00 p.m. and/or during ECU scheduled hours of operation. They will procure supplies and maintain inventory.

Utilize technology to maintain a bookkeeping record of project funds, initiate all requisitions for director's signature and acquire approval and assignment of purchase orders (experience in accounting or in budget record keeping will be an asset). 

Assist director, academic advisor, and other staff in preparation of project materials and maintenance of participant records, serve as receptionist, perform clerical duties, and type all correspondence, forms, monthly travel requests, and all other ECU reports and records. 

Assist director and academic advisor during all monthly weekend workshops, as well as, student trips when needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, have the ability to effectively manage deadlines, and establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, parents, school personnel, ECU faculty and staff, and the general public.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

Must be self‐directed, very resourceful, highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possess a positive attitude. Must have good oral communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, as well as, task oriented. Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Applications to include Outlook, Word and Excel; experience or training in accounting procedures is preferred.

Additional duties of this position require the employee to walk on campus grounds, as well as, occasionally lifting and loading of office supplies. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

 

SALARY: $22,500 - $23,500
