SUMMARY:

To develop and direct the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) Program in accordance with all grant, state and federal rules and regulations which governs the program. To direct, train, and educate the employees of the VUB program to accomplish its intended purpose. The program is designed to generate in program participants the skills and motivation necessary to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following, and other duties may be assigned:

·         Administration and coordination of all VUB activities at the host institution and throughout the target area;

·         Hire, train, and supervise all VUB staff;

·         Supervise recruitment, outreach, and participant selection; all program services and activities to include admissions assistance, financial literacy activities, and academic tutoring and instruction; and follow-up/tracking of all participants;

·         Generate reports and supervise all record-keeping;

·         Supervise and monitor all budget transactions;

·         Build rapport and collaborate with other organizations, agencies, and institutions, especially those that also serve veterans;

·         Ensure compliance of US Department of Education program regulations, EDGAR, UG, Oklahoma State Regents and ECU policies, as well as all applicable state and Federal laws.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Human Resources or a Related Field;

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative position is required, to include experience with budgets, and supervising personnel;

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience working with disadvantaged students, and/or experience teaching/instructing nontraditional students/adults;

·         Veteran or military and/or TRIO experience preferred.

SALARY: $55,000 - $58,000
