Campus Community,

We have learned that three ECU students have tested positive for COVID-19. The students have self-isolated while receiving care at this time.

ECU is in contact with the students and is offering support during recovery. The university is working closely with the Pontotoc County Health Department and other relevant medical professionals to make sure appropriate protocols are followed in the notification of individuals with whom the students may have had close contact. Please understand that if there is a need for anyone to be isolated or tested, they will be contacted as quickly as possible.

We understand this news may cause anxiety and create concern among members of our community. Please remember to contact your health care provider if you feel ill and develop symptoms of COVID-19.

ECU reopened its campus to the public effective June 15, 2020. Social distancing and cleanliness protocols are in place in all campus buildings. However, it is critically important that we all continue do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 on and off campus.

Please follow the health and welfare guidelines as set forth by the Oklahoma Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Links to these resources are available as part of the ECU COVID-19 Response Plan at www.ecok.edu/covid-19info.

During this stressful time, mental health is as important as physical health. Anyone may seek emotional support services by calling the National Distress Helpline at 800-985-5990.  Please refer to the ECU website address above for the latest information about COVID-19 as it pertains to the campus community.
