ECU Tiger Prep Schedule

  • Friday 11 August 2023 

    • 8:30AM - 12:00PM: Residence Hall Move-In (At assigned time) – Residence Halls Pesagi Hall / Pontotoc Hall

      • New students will check in to their residence halls at their assigned time- Check your ECU email for an email message with instructions from the ECU Housing Office.  Take this opportunity to meet your roommate and unpack.

    • 11:00AM - 1:00PM: Lunch - Taff Cafeteria/Local Restaurants

    • 1:00PM - 2:30PM: NASNTI REACHE Open House - Administration 150

      • The NASNTI REACHE program invites you all to visit our office to learn about services and Resources to Enhance the Achievement and Completion in Higher Education for our Native American and/or Pell Eligible students

    • 2:30PM - 3:00PM: Commuter Tiger Prep Check-in - Lockmiller Lobby – Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center

      • All commuter students must check in to Tiger Prep

    • 3:00PM - 3:30PM: Welcome and Parent/Student Convocation - Ataloa Theatre

      • The President welcomes students and families to ECU. Begin with the End in Mind – Every stage of life has a beginning and an end. The end is graduation – this is the beginning ceremony of your journey at East Central University. Required for new students.

    • 3:30PM - 5:00PM: 

      • Student/Faculty Division Event

        • For new Students only. Students will be led to department locations from the Welcome Event. Required for new students.

      • Being the Parent of a College Student

        • ​​​​​​​Parents remain in Ataloa Theatre. Dr. Brandon Hill will share tips on how to partner with ECU and your student for their success.

    • 5:00PM - 7:00PM: Dinner - Taff Cafeteria/Local Restaurants

      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Enjoy a family meal together in Chartwells or at a local restaurant. Students with meal plans can eat at Chartwells as part of their meal plan. This will be the time to say family goodbyes.

    • 5:00PM - 6:00PM: Commuter Student Orientation - Halle Brown Ford Fine Arts Center - 155

      • ​​​​​​​An opportunity to learn what opportunities and responsibilities you have while being part of the ECU Community. Required for commuter students only.

    • 8:00PM – Midnight: Community Life Session & Res. Hall Meetings – Ataloa Theatre

      • Required for new students.  Learn what opportunities and responsibilities you have while being part of the ECU Community. After this event we will dismiss to required residence hall meetings and activities which will continue into the late evening.  ​​​​​​​
