All scholarships require full-time attendance (12 hours for undergraduate; 6 hours for graduate) unless indicated otherwise.
All scholarships require a 3.0 cumulative GPA unless indicated otherwise.
All scholarships are for fall and/or spring semester only (summer not included) unless indicated otherwise.
All recipients are recommended by the department, with final approval by the ECU Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Any exceptions must be approved by the department chair and the Foundation Scholarship Committee.


FRANK P. BECK ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding graduate or undergraduate student in Environmental Health Science or related degree program. The recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above and attend ECU as a full-time student. The recipient will be chosen each year by the Robert S. Kerr Chair or their designee.

BRILES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded based on need and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Originally established as part of the Federal Student Loan Program, this scholarship was transferred to the ECU Foundation in 1995.

DR. WILLIAM A. CARTER SCIENCES ENDOWMENT
This fund will be allocated at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Health & Sciences. Funds are to be used for field trips, materials for research, travel for presentations, etc. with preference given to group outings and/or projects.  Individual recipients receiving support must have a declared major of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Health Science, or Physics to qualify for reimbursement of expenses.   Students and/or faculty members will be reimbursed for expenses after providing qualifying documentation to the ECU Foundation through the College of Health & Sciences. 

DCT COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be available to all students in the College of Health and Sciences, with priority given to students pursuing a master’s degree in a discipline housed in the College of Health and Sciences at the time of the award. Recipient must maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA and be classified as a junior or above. To receive this scholarship, applicants must provide a plan for a community service project (preferably a project that benefits the Ada community) that will be completed during their junior year, and that is verified by a mentoring faculty member. Preference will be given to students providing evidence of community service during their freshman/sophomore year(s). For the scholarship to be renewed during the students’ senior year, they must complete a community service project in collaboration with mentoring a faculty member during their junior year or the student must have presented the activities and results of one of their previous community service projects at a state, regional, national, or international conference during their junior year and provide an acceptable update for the current service project.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the department. 

KELLY/GRIFFIN SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior student pursuing a G.I.S. certificate within the Environmental Science Department who best exemplifies the discipline inside and outside of the classroom. This scholarship was established after the death of Mr. Griffin in 1989 by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Griffin, and Dr. T.A. Kelly, who was an instructor in the department.

HIGGINBOTHAM FAMILY ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to an Environmental Science major who is at least a sophomore and has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Dorothy Higginbotham was an ECU alumna who understood and recognized the value of higher education and established this scholarship as part of her estate planning.

HOLCIM ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of the department.

FRED AND MARY PFEFFER SCHOLARSHIP (Biology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Nursing, Chemistry)
This scholarship will be awarded to one student in each of the listed categories, requires a minimum 3.25 GPA, and will be awarded for up to eight consecutive semesters as long as all scholarship requirements are met. The Pfeffer’s are long-time residents of Ada and have shown tremendous generosity in assisting ECU students.

ESSIE ROARK COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be available to all students in the College of Health and Sciences, with priority given to students pursuing a master’s degree in a discipline housed in the College of Health and Sciences at the time of the award. Recipient must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA and be classified as a junior or above. To receive this scholarship, applicants must provide a plan for a research project that will be completed during their junior year and that is verified by a mentoring faculty member. SCIENCES AND NATURAL RESOURCES FOUNDATION OF OKLAHOMA (SNRF) SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to an Environmental Health Science major who has maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. This scholarship was generously provided by the Sciences and Natural Resources Foundation of Oklahoma (SNRF) with the mission to encourage scientific research into uses of all natural resources.

JOE AND JUNE SIMS CARTOGRAPHY/G.I.S. SCHOLARHSIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior pursing a G.I.S. certificate within in the Environmental Science Department. Dr. Sims was a long-time faculty member at ECU and this scholarship was established in his memory by family, friends, and colleagues.

WATSON FAMILY SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics)
This scholarship will be awarded to students with a declared major of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or Physics.  No preference is given to the order.  Funds can be used to defray the cost for research presentations at state and national professional conferences - first preference.  Funds can also be used for scholarships for students with the declared majors above that have leadership skills and are involved in research - second preference.  This scholarship was established by the Watson-Maile family to honor excellence in research and learning.
