The Social Work Internship Program is an important part of the Social Work curriculum. Students have the opportunity after their last semester of classroom coursework to experience the "real world" of social work in an agency setting. Many internship agencies and organizations, which have been approved by the Social Work Internship Program, are available to students in southeastern Oklahoma, as well as in other parts of the state.

Students may complete their 448-hour block or 448-hour (2 semesters 224 per semester) split internship placement in such settings as: a medical hospital, mental health agency, health department, rehabilitation agency, youth and family services agency, tribal agency, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, or a hospice program. The Field Director and faculty facilitate these placements for students in keeping with their interests, needs, and availability of sites. The information and forms posted on this page should be helpful to prospective interns, current interns, as well as field instructors.
