A quick glance at the ECU Art Program will reveal students striving to develop their own artistic styles while also maintaining a tight-knit community. Their work ranges from traditional to contemporary. Students exhibit their work in both student and professional exhibitions. While being led by an active faculty, students also take an active role in influencing and motivating one another. Program graduates have careers such as studio artists, illustrators, designers, art educators, and gallery directors. Many graduates choose to expand their artistic skills and awareness by attending graduate schools all across the country.
Within the Art Program, students can pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentrations offered in studio art, art education, and graphic design. The concentration in studio art prepares students for positions as an artist or for further study in fine arts graduate programs.
