ECU PLANS LIFELONG LEARNING DAY DEMONSTRATIONS, INFORMATION

Demonstrations of the art of belly dancing, benefits of self-hypnotism and the grace of yoga on Wednesday [SEPT. 5], along with a free lunch and live radio broadcast, will highlight the classes and services offered this fall by East Central University's Center of Continuing Education and Community Services.

Lifelong Learning Day will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Fentem Hall on the north side of the campus, just west of Science Hall and the Physical and Environmental Sciences Center.

AREA SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS ATTEND TAH COLLOQUIUM AT ECU

Fifth grade social studies teachers from Pontotoc County, Stratford and Konawa participated in a four-day colloquium hosted by the Center for the Advancement of American History at East Central University.

Support for the colloquium was provided by two U.S. Department of Education Teaching American History Projects.

GORE WINS QUICK ADVANTAGE PROGRAM'S BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION

Nowadays, businesses without a website can be at a distinct disadvantage.

That knowledge gave a computer science major at East Central University the idea of starting her own business to manage websites for small businesses who can't afford an onsite webmaster.

A good idea, probably, but how to get started?

ECU STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO ALPHA CHI NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Fifty East Central University students were inducted this spring into ECU's chapter of Alpha Chi. Membership in the national honor society represents the highest academic honor on any member campus.

To be eligible, students must be in the top 10 percent of the junior or senior class, with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

BEGINNING FRESHMEN ENROLL AT ECU AUG. 17

Enrollment will be held Aug. 17 [FRIDAY] at East Central University for beginning freshmen who still need to enroll for the fall semester. Current students and students who are transferring to ECU can enroll daily.

Classes begin Aug. 20 [MONDAY].

Beginning freshmen need to be admitted to ECU and have their campus housing secured by Aug. 17 in order to enroll, said Pamla Armstrong, director of admissions and records. For information on admissions requirements, call Pam Denny at 580-559-5233.
