94TH ANNUAL INTERSCHOLASTIC MEET SCHEDULED TUESDAY AT ECU

Students from approximately 75 high schools will compete Tuesday morning [FEB. 9] in the 94th annual Interscholastic Meet at East Central University. It is the oldest and largest meet in Oklahoma.

Up to 2,000 students could compete by taking tests in 36 categories ranging from accounting to world history. Many of the students compete in more than one of the tests.

OKLAHOMA VETERANS CAN APPLY FOR FREE TRAINING FOR GREEN JOBS

The next round of helping Oklahoma veterans find civilian jobs will begin with interviews the week of Jan. 25 to select qualified veterans for four weeks of free training and other services.

The Veterans Workforce Investment Program, based at East Central University in Ada, will begin its next session on Feb. 4 to prepare veterans, at no cost to them, for "green jobs" in fields such as energy efficiency and renewable energy.

ECU CONTINUING EDUCATION PLANS MEDICAL BILLING, CODING PROGRAM

A medical billing and coding certification program will begin March 22 through East Central University's Continuing Professional Education Program. The instructor-led course will be taught on the campus for a total of 10 weeks. The Pogue Gallery at East Central University will feature "Another World seemed Possible," an exhibit of work by Frank Wick, through Feb. 6.

High academic achievement during the fall semester has earned East Central University students listings on the President's and Deans' Honor Rolls.

MARCH AT ECU TO CELEBRATE MARTIN LUTHER KING

The historic 1963 March on Washington in which Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech will be reenacted Thursday [JAN. 14] at East Central University.

Marchers will gather on the Centennial Plaza in front of the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at 12:30 p.m. to begin a march around campus led by ECU students. Gertrude Bush, chair of the Pontotoc County Election Board, has been named Honorary Grand Marshal.
