VETERANS ELIGIBLE FOR FREE GREEN ENERGY JOB TRAINING

Free green energy job training will be offered in January to all eligible veterans in a Green Pre-Construction Trades Academy in Oklahoma City by the Veterans Workforce Investment Program. A mandatory orientation/employment training class will be held either Wednesday [JAN. 15] or Jan. 6 in Oklahoma City.

FEMA GRANT TO FUND COMMUNITY SAFEROOM IN ECU BUSINESS CENTER

Ada will have a community saferoom available to as many as 1,700 people during stormy weather, thanks to a $1.46 million grant awarded to East Central University by FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

A tour of three of Spain’s fascinating cities will offer an opportunity to experience Spanish culture and history, along with immersion in the Spanish language, during spring break next March.

A project created to showcase the work of Oklahoma artists age 30 and younger has selected a number of East Central University art students and one professor for its Momentum exhibits over the last 10 years.

ECU WRITERS INCLUDED IN ANTHOLOGY OF NEW OKLAHOMA WRITING

“Ain’t Nobody That Can Sing Like Me: New Oklahoma Writing,” a collection of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, and visual art by 78 writers and two visual artists who live in the state, has been released by Mongrel Empire Press, an eclectic publishing house specializing in regional and unusual literary works.
