Several entertaining sessions and informative speakers are planned for the 2010 Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference and Forum, scheduled for Thursday, April 8, at East Central University in Ada. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

This year's theme is "The Balanced Life" with related sessions to explore solutions for better health, greater spirituality, creativity and balanced leadership. Scheduled sessions include:

9:30 a.m. "Health Matters" Dr. Tina Cooper

10:30 a.m. "The Spiritual You" Lorie Robins, Suzanne Russell and Glenda Galvan

1:30 p.m. "The Creative View" Dr. Traci Morris, Robyn Elliot, Jeannie Barbour and Dr. Tina Cooper

3 p.m. "Balanced Leadership" State Representative Lisa J. Billy

A luncheon featuring speaker Mike Wingo begins at noon in the East Central University Ballroom. Dinner and entertainment, beginning at 5 p.m., will precede the forum.

All sessions are free but luncheon and dinner tickets must be purchased by Friday, April 2.

Meal tickets are $10 each or $16 for a lunch and dinner combination. ECU student price per meal is $8.

The Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Estep Multimedia Center. 2010 panelists are Pauline Walker, Karen Cook, Sue Fish and Deborah Hook.

This forum is presented annually by the Chickasaw Clemente Humanities Studies program through the Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities in partnership with ECU. Its purpose is to salute the valuable contributions, talents and skills of the dynamic women of the Chickasaw Nation.

Corresponding with the conference and forum will be a special exhibit entitled "Art of the Chickasaw Woman" in the University Center. This unique art show spotlights the spirit and creativity of Chickasaw women through visual art, pottery, textiles and other artworks. The exhibit runs from April 7 through April 23.
