Ada's Sante Fe Steakhouse will hold a fundraiser dinner Thursday [SEPT. 9] for East Central University's Guard Officer Leader Development (GOLD) Program, part of the Oklahoma Army National Guard. The dinner will be served from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chickasaw Community Center, 700 E. Mississippi.

The menu includes a choice of grilled chicken/Texas sausage, dinner salad, rolls with cinnamon butter, green beans, loaded baked potatoes, and peach or apple cobbler a la mode. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students of any age. Tickets will be available at the door.

A silent auction will offer items from Home Depot, Holiday Inn Express, Gem Jewelers, Hastings and others. The Masonic Lodge in Ada will match the funds raised by the dinner and silent auction.

Capt. Kevin Roland, officer in charge of the GOLD Program, said the proceeds from the dinner will be used for travel expenses to take four ECU GOLD seniors and future Army officers to study the historic battlefield at Gettysburg.

ECU's GOLD Program allows students who are members of the Oklahoma Army National Guard to earn commissions as officers on campus while completing their degrees. Twenty-three cadets are in the program this year.

Contact Roland at 559-5822 or 405-818-9421 for more information.
