The East Central University Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 24 [TUESDAY] in the Kennedy Band Hall in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. Admission is free. The ensemble will open with “Doxy” by Sonny Rollins /Mark Taylor, featuring Erin Goto, alto sax; Kane Berry, tenor sax; Nathan Enns, trumpet; and Jessika Robertson, trombone.

Charlie Parker’s “Confirmation” will showcase Jessika Coleman, alto sax; Tory Grose, trombone; and Darren Heath, drums. Kelsey Molina will be the vocalist for “Don’t Know Why” by Jesse Harris/Paul Murtha and for “All of Me” by Simons and Marks/Lennie Niehaus, with soloists Nate Sheeley and Kane Berry, tenor sax; and guitarists Lemuel Overton and Greg Stonecipher.

Soloists for “Filthy McNasty” by Horace Silver/John LaBarbera will be Jessika Coleman, alto sax; Elaine Lancaster, trumpet; and Jessica Robertson, trombone. Nathan Enns, trumpet, will be featured in “Spain” by Chick Corea/Paul Jennings.

Other members of the Jazz Ensemble, which is directed by Dr. Allen Correll, are Brent Biddy, alto saxophone; Clint Prucha, tenor sax; Matt Roland, bari sax; Josh Welch and Chris McClendon, trumpet; Christian Miller, trombone; Taylor Whitehurst, piano; Chelsea Stout, guitar; and Tyler Davis, bass.
